Blind-folded

Own Image

The other day I discovered a default in my room blinds, there was something faulty with them and for like a week or two I had this problem of not adjusting my blinds (totally frustrating!). I then decided to show the amazing lady who helps around my place this rather disturbing issue around these blinds and she suggested that I ask my cousin or male-figure to sort this problem out for me.

Me, being the superwoman I am climbed up, took my nail filler and started to maneuver my way around what seemed like a tangle in one of the strings. So I kept on trying to figure this thing out with no luck, for a moment I actually thought to myself ‘this woman is right, there are some things which only guys can do such as this one!’.

A few seconds later I asked Jesus: “Lord you have given me a body and intelligent working brain, what then could impede me from figuring this out?” And yes, not so surprisingly I figured out what was wrong with my blinds and learnt a very great lesson: ‘If we say we cannot, we’ll forever remain in our minds blind-folded’.

The difference between living and existing

The difference between living and existing is: living is being ‘alive’, while existing is all about being ‘around’, here and now. When we live we live for something, a purpose in life. Something motivates us to get up in the morning to pursue our dreams and fulfill our destiny. On the other hand, when we exist we’re around by the grace of the Lord, that its because of him we are still around, either than that we are dead inside.

People who live are passionate people, those who exist have nothing to live for which is the worst thing anyone can ever feel. I’ve never acted on any suicidal thoughts I’ve had, always knew they were from dark forces, when we hear The Word of God it is  easy to hear the voice of the  devil. Then again, I’ve always asked myself what goes through somebody who commits suicides’ head? They clearly existed but not lived. Living is therefore having faith that things will change for the best even if it seems otherwise, while existing is breathing but dying inside.

The last time I did something new…

The last time I did something new was when I went ice-skating with someone I was with at the time, I’ve fallen in love with ice-skating ever since. Its always very important for each and everyone of us to learn a new skill or do something different and new for personal well-being and revival.

I was actually thinking of cutting my hair, I mean that’s something not so new but change nonetheless. Or bowling, I’ve been inside a bowling club or vicinity but never participated sadly.

It looks like a whole lot of fun, it’s a pity all the people in my life are so boring that I don’t have anyone to go with me (just proves the caliber of friends I have!). The only person I can think of which would have loved the idea is my ex boyfriend, geez! Why does he have to be so perfect! *case of the ex*. Ex, friends or not I’ll go alone if need be, there’s no stopping me

When it’s all said and done, will I have said more than I’ve done?

When it’s all said and done I will have done more than I have said. Yes, because I have learnt the hard way that ‘actions do speak louder than words’. The South African politicians debate is a bit ‘cliché’ yet here’s a perfect example of saying more and doing less, the last thing I want to get into is deliberating on our government as its one story, scandal and shame after another.

My point is when I leave this world ( and  never coming back) what legacy will I have left behind? We all want to change the world but truth is the world can only change when one makes a difference where they are. The moral of the story is; before we comment on something, we need to be already in motion and change it, if not its better to just keep quite then not live up to your word. Lesson learnt, Simply Put.
