Celebrating the things I have cause in due time, all perishes.

I try to celebrate the things I have but will admit I don’t do it as often as I should. The thing is people naturally are never satisfied, we’ll want something then once we have it appreciate it for a while and move on to the next dream or want. I think if I appreciated and celebrated more the things I already have, I’d be happier and probably more content with my life. Complacency is something else while contentment is another, its never a bad thing to want something.

The sad part is not celebrating what you already have when its all that you’ll ever need. I have made some bad decisions with regard to celebrating the things God has blessed me with and don’t intend to repeat the same mistakes again. So every single day even if I don’t necessarily possess what I want most, I will make it a point from now on that I count my blessings, endlessly.

When is it time to stop calculating risk and reward and just do what you know is right?

The best time to start doing this is when one decides that they need to grow in their thinking and stop doing something with an expectation in their pocket. A lot of times that’s exactly what we do, its very hard for people at times to do what is right without getting something in return. I don’t think a lot of people experience the greatness and sense of pride which comes with having to do the right thing without any recognition and cheering from the crowd.

I personally think when we stop calculating risk and reward and just do what is right we grow spiritually. And what most individuals do not understand is the wealthiest  man is not the one with the castle and a hundred servants, the wealthiest is the man who even without any riches has wisdom, strength and integrity spiritually. Simply Put.

Who I Love and What I am doing about it.

They say people meet in the strangest of places, little did I know I was going to meet someone who has become so dear, and special to my heart in an academic setting, love really has no boundaries. We got to know each other but the problem was, I was still in love with an ex boyfriend and he knew about it. I also had lost my cousin who I had known my entire life, the timing of our union was challenging. I never cheated on him because I’m not a cheat but I couldn’t be with him either.

I felt we were an old married couple, little did I know how much this man was crazy about me, little did I know I was to fall in love with him. I broke things off with him, the manner in which I did this was cruel to say the least, and there were other stupid things I did to hurt him. He never spoke to me again until recently when I told him I’m in love with him, which he probably questioned. Nonetheless, he said lets start as friends and see where it goes.

So basically all I can do is just love him from afar till he decides to act on our friendship, I pray that God guides him and takes care of his every need, that everyday in his life is filled with happiness, I can only pray that Jesus tells him how much I love him and grant me the chance to show him oneday, someday soon…

When I’m her age (over 80) what will matter to me most is…

How many lives I have touched I’ve touched and what contribution I have made to mankind and the moral fiber of the society I live in. Well, if my head isn’t filled with Alzheimer’s disease and still remember my husband! I’d look at his eyes with the deepest admiration and compassion and thank him for our beautiful children and grandchildren and the legacy we’ll pass on to them.

But even more important, I’d knees down on my knees (God willingly!) and praise his name. Thanking him for letting me live till this graceful age, thank him for all the times he rescued me from any harm and for always listening to my prayers. I’d ask the Lord to save each and every one of my family so we can all live ‘Happily Ever After in Heaven’.

If I could do it all over again I would not change a thing.

If I could do it all over again I would not change a thing as if I changed anything I wouldn’t have come to love you as I do right now. I hurt you more than anything in this world and ended up hurting myself even more as I parted from the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me.

If I could have us on ice again I would, hold your hand once I again so would!, have your hand in mine and pray just before we share a meal, tease you and call you by that nickname you don’t exactly appreciate, God knows if I could do it all again, I would not change a thing as you’re perfect just the way you are *Inspired by Bruno Mars, felt deeply by me* Simply Put.

Would you break the law to save a loved one?

I probably would not break the law to save a loved one. I think I would support them through their journey into facing the law and the consequences of their actions. In all honesty I think jail time and rehabilitation would help them realize their mistakes, if not then it is their life after all… If I were to break the law for a loved one what love would I be giving them?

Tough love is a necessity when you want someone to change, it just shows that you care enough to let them make their own mistakes and decide on their own which path they desire to take in life. Think about it, we were born on our own (twins involved), we’ll die on our own but we’re never alone. Family, friends and loved ones are there to support us in times and protect us to a certain extent. Our lives are a gift from the God, how we live them is entirely up to us… Simply Put.

Am I one who asks a lot of questions or do I settle for what I know?

Generally speaking I don’t literally asks a lot of questions, I’m an excellent listener. The questions I ask are intrinsic and when I don’t understand something I naturally do some research on it.  I’m also one who questions my sources of information, if it’s irrelevant to me I throw it out of the window! What I’ve learnt over the years and through experience is sometimes people who ask a lot of questions usually don’t listen to the feedback they get (Empty vessels make the loudest noise).

There are guidelines when asking questions: first of all one has to ask themselves if what they asking is of any relevance to their IQ, second of all why they’re asking the question is just as important and lastly what will they do with the feedback. So no, I may not ask a lot of questions literally, but intrinsically my mind is a question asking, information gathering machine.
